Sourdough Loaves
How should I store my sourdough loaf to keep it fresh?
Because our bread is made naturally without any artificial preservatives, it needs a little different care than grocery store bread:
First 2–3 Days: Store the loaf cut-side down on a wooden cutting board or inside a paper bag on your counter. This keeps the inside soft while preserving the crunchy crust.
Do NOT Refrigerate: The fridge actually draws moisture out of artisan bread, making it go stale much faster.
Long Term: Slice the loaf completely, place it in a zip-top freezer bag, and freeze it.
How do I get that "fresh out of the oven" crackly crust back?
If your loaf has softened up after a couple of days, you can easily revive it! Spritz the whole loaf (or a large chunk of it) lightly with a bit of water, then pop it directly onto the rack of a 175°C (350°F) oven for 8–10 minutes. It will taste, smell, and crunch exactly like it was just baked.
Can I freeze the bread?
Yes, and here is the ultimate pro-tip: slice it first! Slicing the loaf before you freeze it means you can just pull out one or two slices at a time whenever you want them. You can pop the frozen slices directly into your toaster or toaster oven—no thawing required. It will keep beautifully in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Jumbo Sourdough Rolls
Does the sourdough make the cinnamon rolls taste sour?
Not at all! The wild sourdough starter doesn’t make them taste like a tangy loaf of sourdough bread. Instead, the slow fermentation process adds a subtle depth of flavor and complexity that perfectly balances the sweetness of the filling and toppings. It also creates an incredibly soft, pillowy, melt-in-your-mouth texture that standard yeast simply can’t replicate.
How should I reheat my rolls for that fresh-baked experience?
We highly recommend serving them warm! Here is how to get them perfectly gooey:
The Quick Method: Pop a single roll on a plate and microwave for 15–20 seconds.
The Bakery Method: Place the rolls on a baking sheet and warm them in a 175°C (350°F) oven for 5–8 minutes until the frosting or glaze gets beautifully glossy and soft.
Can I freeze the rolls for later?
Yes, absolutely! Our rolls freeze beautifully. Wrap them tightly or keep them in an airtight container and freeze for up to 2 months. When you’re ready to indulge, just let them thaw at room temperature for a couple of hours, then use one of the reheating methods above.
4oz Sourdough Starter Jars
I just received my starter jar. What do I do first?
Your starter is alive but likely very hungry from its travels! Upon opening, you’ll want to give it its first meal right away. Transfer it to a slightly larger jar, and feed it equal parts unbleached flour and filtered water by weight to wake it up. Every jar comes with a beginner-friendly, step-by-step activation guide to walk you through it!
How often do I actually have to feed this thing?
It completely depends on your baking lifestyle:
The Frequent Baker: If you plan to bake a few times a week, keep it on your kitchen counter and feed it once a day.
The Weekend Warrior: If you only want to bake occasionally, store it in the refrigerator and feed it just once a week.
Can this starter really live forever?
Pretty much! Sourdough starters are incredibly resilient. As long as you give it a routine flour-and-water feeding, this single $10 jar can live on your counter or in your fridge for decades—and even be passed down to your kids.
Allergens & Ingredients
Do you offer gluten-free options?
We do not. Because sourdough relies heavily on the gluten structure of high-quality wheat flour to achieve its famous airy rise, none of our products are gluten-free. While some people with mild gluten sensitivities find slow-fermented sourdough easier to digest, our kitchen handles wheat constantly.
What about nuts and other allergens?
Our baked goods are prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts. Our Nutella Hazelnut and Caramelized Pecan rolls explicitly contain tree nuts. Please check the ingredient lists on each product page if you have severe allergies!
